A lovely cat and yellow moon macramé and capiz chime, exquisitely crafted in the Philippines, features capiz shells, the outer shells of marine mollusks commonly known as “windowpane oysters.” These shells, originally harvested from the shallow coastal waters near the town of Capiz on the island of Panay, are so named because they were initially collected from there. Once cleaned, the shells are naturally translucent and, when painted, create a beautiful interplay of light and color.
